Welcome to the Research Guide

This guide is full of useful information about how to develop your film idea and get it ready for a pitch.

Start by looking at the tabs across the top.  First, the Sizzle Reel tab shows examples of different reels and articles about them that are available online.

The Concept Art & Lookbook tab is full of links to articles, as well as a list of DVDs that have concept art galleries on the discs.

Another strategy for finding information about film production is by reading articles from trade journals, magazines, and newspapers.  The Magazines & Journals tab is full of tips on how to search Art Source and ProQuest for articles.

On the Books tab, you'll find books on concept art, film production, and "the making of" books related to film.  All of these are available in the library for checkout.
