Browsing the Shelves - Art History

Below is a select list of subject headings to try searching in the Goldstein Library CatalogYou'll want to try different search terms and strategies as your research develops. These subject headings will be most helpful when searching for general books on Art History. For more specific books, you'll want to search for the artist, period, style, medium, etc.

  • Art--History
  • Art appreciation
  • Art movements
  • Art--Themes, motives

Many of the books on Art History, artists, periods, style, etc. can be found on the 3rd floor of the Goldstein Library in the N5000s-N8000s. Other books are filed throughout the NAs, NBs, NCs, NDs, NKs, and NXs based on medium.

Getting Books We Don't Own

If you find a book that might be useful for your research and the Library does not own a copy, we can try to borrow one from another Library for you to use through our Interlibrary Loan service.

Fill out the online form here to submit your request. Please keep in mind that books usually take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks to arrive.
