WRIT 151: Writing Studio: Sound Resources
This guide is for WRIT 151: Writing Studio and introduces how to research academic resources in the Library
All of the databases below contain downloadable music tracks, sounds, and sfx. Please note that some have special sign up instructions you must follow to gain access. These databases and websites are useful when researching and using sounds for film projects, animation, motion design, game art, and other projects requiring a sound component.
Free Sound Websites
All of the websites below are freely accessible on the web. In order to use, you will have to set up a personal account on each site in order to gain access to its materials.
Search more than a thousand free sound effects. Alan McKinney of McKinney Sound asked professional sound companies and individuals around the world to contribute sound effects for everyone to use for free. There are some limitations to how you can use the sound effects - read those limitations at http://www.freesfx.co.uk/info/eula/.
Goldstein Library provides Sound Ideas, Sound Effects, and Music for download online. Download is only available to Ringling College students, faculty, and staff.
