Usage Guidelines

Killer Tracks is copyrighted music provided under license agreement to Ringling College of Art and Design faculty, staff, and students.  You are entitled to use Killer Tracks selections as synchronized background music in various types of audio-visual media productions.  The rights conveyed by this agreement exist in perpetuity for productions made during the term of this agreement.

You will be prompted to agree to the Usage Guidelines each time you access Killer Tracks.  Please be sure to read the full usage guidelines, which are fairly short, before using Killer Tracks.

Download Settings

To optimize your Killer Tracks downloads, change download settings and choose to download using Flash (not Java).
  1. Log in to Killer Tracks.
  2. Log in to your personal Killer Tracks account.
  3. Click on "My Account Details" in the upper right portion of the screen.
  4. On the left side of the next screen, click on "My Download Preferences."
  5. Click the radio button for "Flash Download Manager."
  6. Click the "Update" button.

Getting Started with Killer Tracks - Creating Your Account

Using production music in your project and don’t have a Killer Tracks account and password yet?  You will need to set up an individual account and password with Killer Tracks to be able to download the music tracks.  Don’t worry, there’s no cost to you. That’s already covered by Goldstein Library.

Set up your account and password now while you have plenty of time.  It can take 24 hours on a weekday for Killer Tracks to confirm your account and they do not process password requests on weekends

To set up your individual account and request a password:

1.  Go to the Library’s website where we list our music and sound effects databases on the "A-Z Resources” page: http://ringling.libguides.com/az.php​ 

2.  Click on Killer Tracks, read and accept the terms of use (it may prompt you to login to the proxy server using your Ringling ID and password).

3.  Navigate to "Create an Account" on the Killer Tracks page. Under "I'm Already a Killer Tracks Client!" click "Request Download Access". Fill out the form with the required information. Remember to use your Ringling email address.
