Alumni + Visitor Resources

This guide outlines library resources that are available for alumni and visitors who are not currently Ringling College of Art and Design students, staff, or faculty.

Alumni + Visitors Library Hours

Monday - Friday        8:30AM - 4:30PM*

*A Ringling ID is needed to enter the building. Visitors, including the public, alumni, and RCLA members, can drop in and call (941) 359-7587 when you arrive, and a staff member will open the door.

Holidays and Breaks: The Library is closed on holidays as designated by the institution. Closing notices will be posted on the front doors and on social media. 

Alumni + Visitor Borrowing

Graduates of Ringling College of Art and Design have life-long borrowing privileges at Goldstein Library. They may check out up to 15 items at a time, excluding CDs and games. Alumni can register at the Circulation Desk for a library card.

As a courtesy, community members may use the Goldstein Library physical collections for research. 

Ringling College Library Association members in the community have checkout privileges at Goldstein Library and can apply for a library card at the Circulation Desk. If you wish to check out materials, you may become a member of the Ringling College Library Association. Individual memberships are $100.00 per year. 

High school arts and humanities teachers in Sarasota and Manatee counties may register for a library card at no charge.

Ringling College of Art and Design is a private institution and reserves the right to limit access to Goldstein Library at its discretion.

The Library address is 2700 Bradenton Road, Sarasota, FL 34234. It is located on the south side of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Way, to the east of Bradenton Rd. Please see the campus map for a detailed view of the campus.

Alumni + Visitor Research Help

If you need research assistance or help using library resources, you may schedule an appointment with a librarian via the scheduling link below. Please be sure to include as much information as possible on the topic that you are researching.

Note: unfortunately, members of the public and alumni do not have access to Goldstein Library's digital resources due to licensing agreements with vendors. You may use the physical collection for research.

Materials in Special Collections may be viewed by appointment. Contact Cheri Marks, Special Collections Curator and Archivist, at cmarks@ringling.edu or at (941) 359-7583 for general inquiries, individual research consultations, and class visits.

Holidays and Breaks

The hours for the Brizdle-Schoenberg Special Collections Center are typically from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Please note that these hours are subject to change, so we recommend visiting our website for the most current information.
